unending-promiseToday I found another common thread in this little project of mine. Most of the final images were taken almost at the end of the day. I realize that it would’ve been really easy if I had found my best images at the beginning of the search, it because I would’ve been tempted to stop looking for more things to photograph and call it a day. Allow me to sit back in my chair as I laugh at how incredible the creating process is! It’s all about patience, finding your own voice and a way to visually represent it.

I had called it a day and as I was driving home I found this single sunflower bud in the sidewalk of a house. For a second I considered not stopping because I remember I had things to do afterwards, but the plant was so big and pretty it couldn’t go unnoticed. Once I was out of the car I became more impressed with the size of the leaves, the height of the stem and the perfection of each pointy closed leaves.

As I was photographing I realized something that left an impact in my heart and I want to share it with you.

See this sunflower bud? See how impressively big her leaves are, how tall the stem is; it didn’t grow overnight, it had to go through a process. The roots had to be strong and deep enough in order for the plant to grow don’t expect anything to grow without proper foundation. If you are not firmly planted wherever you need to be you won’t be able to grow and bloom. It takes some more time for the actual flower to develop as well, so please be patient; don’t try to rush something or else it will die. It is meant to be beautiful, but it needs to go through her growing stage. Sometimes growing hurts, sometimes you might feel like nothing is happening because it looks simple on the outside but trust God that He is working something out.

Just as this sunflower is in preparation to bloom so is your love story, you might not see it but you both need to have a deep foundation to bloom together. Don’t worry, just as this bud is not worrying for when it will bloom. God knows its timing and when it comes it will be beautiful, it will be worth the wait. Trust. Keep tending your heart; keep making the roots deep because when your time comes,
